Who can be Saved?
Monday, July 20, 2009
Well, it has taken more than 50 years to come to this; I have spent all my adult life looking for some folks who would go all the way with God, who would even try, and in the past few years I have found a few who had the courage to try it and to begin seeking to overcome their sins. So, I kept teaching showing you that have been studying with me these past several months, the hard things, that is until this past Sabbath when I laid upon you what Paul said in Phil.4.8-10, and then I followed with the final blow, with what Jesus said about the servant who knew his lord's will but would not do it.
Your response was predictable, as we may read the answer is already written:
And Jesus said unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, It is hard for a rich man to
enter the kingdom of heaven, and again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go
through the needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. And
when the disciples heard it, they were astonished exceedingly, saying, Who then can
be saved? And Jesus looking upon them said to them, With men this is impossible;
but with God all things are possible. Then answered Peter and said unto him, Lo,
we have left all, and followed you: what then shall we have? And Jesus said unto
them, Verily I say unto you, that you who have followed me in the regeneration
when the Son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, you also shall sit upon
twelve thrones... (Mt.19.23ff)
The answer is that you MUST become born again, you must become born of the Spirit and go all the way with God on into the Kingdom of God; there is no part-way, there is no stopping place, you must do ALL the Word of God in order to be saved. You can make excuse...you can ignore it...you can belittle it, but there is no way you are going to change what Jesus said.
Therefore, what will God do? Will He leave you like this floundering in your sins? No, but rather He will visit every one of you and encourage you to go all the way; you that are doing your best, He will have mercy; you that are dragging your feet knowing what you must do, he will lay a few stripes upon you to get your attention; He will not allow you to flounder, but will get you in or get you out. Also, some of you are just foolish enough to wnat to wait around to see if I will yet be vindicated even knowing what I have taught is exactly true; do you suppose God will deal kindly with you? I do not think so.
So get off your derrière and get to work.
